VentureNet 2002 Terms and Conditions, and Submission Form

By submitting your application online you acknowledge the correctness of the information you submit, and your understanding and agreement of your and our commitments as explained below.

Your Commitments

If you are selected to make a presentation at VentureNet 2002 and if you accept our invitation, you will be expected to:

  • Make a high-quality 10-minute presentation at the conference. The presentation's content and withholding of proprietary information are solely under your discretion.
  • Pay the presentation fee that is due immediately upon our notification of your selection. The presentation fee is $500. The fee includes presentation, exhibit space, one full conference attendee pass, and three exhibits-only passes.

VentureNet 2002 Commitments

If VentureNet 2001 extends you an invitation to present, and you accept, our sole responsibilities are to provide you with:

  • Audio-visual equipment for your presentation, including slide projector, screen and compatibility to render computer-based movies and sound. It will not include a live connection to the Internet.
  • Coaching by the members of the selection committee
  • Exhibit area (tabletop display in the main exhibit area)
  • One full conference registration pass
  • Three exhibits passes
  • Exposure in the event program guide, on VentureNet web site and a press releases
  • Accommodations for no less than 400 audience participants

If you make a presentation, no brokerage relationship or success fee arrangement will be implied on your part or the part of VentureNet 2002. Moreover, VentureNet 2002 does not commit to:

  • A minimum number of audience participants, or makeup thereof.
  • Any expression of interest in your business plan by any audience participant
  • Successful funding of your company

All companies giving presentations at VentureNet acknowledge and agree that: (i) not all investors at VentureNet are "accredited investors" as defined under the Securites Act of 1933; (ii) there is no guarantee that companies selected to give presentations at VentureNet will obtain funding; and (iii) VentureNet, the Software Council of Southern California ("SCSC"), the VentureNet review and selection committee, and the sponsors of VentureNet and their respective affiliates shall have no liability as a result of the matters covered in (i) and (ii) above.

VentureNet's review and selection committee will evaluate each company based primarily on the information you submit here. Additional information might be requested for clarification purposes only.

About your business plan
You can only upload one document that must include an executive summary of no more than three pages and a business plan. The document must be in either Adobe Acrobat .pdf format (preferred) or Microsoft Word .doc format. All other formats will be discarded and not eligible for review, and your application fee will not be refunded.

Your executive summary must include clear and succinct explanations of your company's:

  • Target customers
  • The target customers' pain and how well the company's products and services cure the pain
  • Competitive advantage
  • Management team
  • Potential growth rate and size
  • Financial model, including stage, current capitalization structure, and the amount of capital being raised
  • Opportunity to create superior shareholder value
